WhatsApp Is Working on an Exciting New Feature for Users
Technology

WhatsApp has begun rolling out a new “Mentions and Replies” filter that lets users quickly find chats where they have been tagged or where their messages have received replies—making it easier to catch up on important conversations.

Instant messaging application WhatsApp has begun introducing a new filter called “Mentions and Replies” for user convenience, allowing them to easily locate chats where they have been tagged or where their messages have been replied to.

According to WABetaInfo, this feature is being rolled out to select users on the Android beta version 2.26.42.12.

The filter will be available within the “Chats” tab, enabling users to view only those conversations in which they have been mentioned or their messages have received a reply.

This feature will also make it easier to find important messages within large group chats and communities. It will be particularly beneficial for users who often overlook essential questions or responses due to the high volume of messages they receive.

💡 Key point

A key aspect of this feature is that the relevant chats will remain accessible via the filter—even after the corresponding notifications have been cleared.

Users can also manage this feature through the settings—choosing to disable it or move it to the “More” section, depending on their preferences.

Currently, this feature is being released to a limited number of beta users; a date for its general availability to all users has not yet been announced.
