Elon Musk, founder of the renowned American company Tesla, has once again become the world’s first trillionaire.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Elon Musk’s wealth surged by $65 billion in a single day, bringing his total net worth to $1.04 trillion.
The report indicates that the primary driver behind this increase in Musk’s wealth is the rise in share prices of SpaceX and Tesla.
Elon Musk’s wealth increased by $320 billion over the course of a year.
According to the report, since the beginning of October, SpaceX shares have risen by approximately 13%, while Tesla shares have increased by 6.7%.
It is worth noting that Elon Musk first achieved trillionaire status in June of this year but could not sustain it due to a subsequent drop in the share prices of both his companies; now, after about three months, he has regained this distinction.
According to the Bloomberg report, more than 98% of Musk’s total wealth consists of his shareholdings in SpaceX and Tesla.
Why it matters: Musk’s return to trillionaire status highlights the extraordinary concentration of wealth in modern technology and aerospace ventures. The surge reflects investor confidence in SpaceX and Tesla, underscoring their dominant roles in the space and electric vehicle industries.
