Karachi, Pakistan: A woman from the United States, who had traveled to Karachi to marry a 19-year-old local resident, has reported that her diamond ring, valued at approximately 100 million US dollars (equivalent to Rs. 2800 crore in Pakistani currency), has gone missing. The woman, who had been residing in a guesthouse, was later admitted to the mental health ward of Jinnah Hospital.
According to reports, while receiving medical care, she recalled the presence of a rare red diamond ring in her possession. She immediately informed hospital staff and insisted on returning to the guesthouse where she had been staying, believing that the ring might still be there.
Upon being transported back to the guesthouse via ambulance, she demanded the return of her valuable ring. However, the guesthouse management denied any knowledge of the missing item. When questioned about the value of the ring, she reiterated that it was worth 100 million US dollars.
Further details have emerged indicating that the woman had arrived in Pakistan in October, contrary to speculation that she had only recently traveled to the country. Her stay was associated with a young man named Ahmed, whom she had met online. Reports suggest that after a few meetings, Ahmed distanced himself, allegedly due to discrepancies between her real-life appearance and the images she had shared earlier.
Following Ahmed’s withdrawal, the woman reportedly exhibited distressed behavior. She was seen outside Ahmed’s residence demanding financial compensation, ranging from five thousand to one hundred thousand US dollars. As concerns over her mental health grew, her family intervened, and she was subsequently admitted to Jinnah Hospital for evaluation and care.
While receiving treatment, she also claimed that her hair had been stolen, further adding to the complexities of the situation. Authorities have yet to verify the legitimacy of her claims regarding the missing ring and other possessions.
The incident has garnered significant media attention, with many questioning the credibility of the allegations. Investigations are ongoing to determine the facts surrounding this unusual case.
