What’s Happening?
The government of Pakistan has started a serious crackdown. They’re taking strong action against people who are living abroad but have either:
- Overstayed their visas,
- Been involved in illegal activities, or
- Are considered a national security concern.
Because of this, many Pakistanis who fall under these categories are being sent back to Pakistan.
Why Is This a Big Deal?
This isn’t just a small warning. It’s a full-on action plan. Here’s what the government is doing:
- First, their passports will be canceled.
- Then, they’ll be put on trial under Pakistani law.
- After that, they’ll be blacklisted – which means they won’t be allowed to apply for a passport again for five years.
In short: no passport, no traveling, no return for five years. That’s a long time.
How Many People Are Affected?
So far, around 5,402 Pakistanis have been officially reported and flagged. That’s a large number, and it’s still growing.
Out of these:
- 2,050 people have already been processed in some way.
- 522 beggars living abroad have also been evacuated.
Yes, even beggars who were sent abroad and were seen as causing trouble are now being brought back.
The Government’s Zero-Tolerance Policy
To deal with this situation, the government has formed a Zero Tolerance Committee. This means they are not going to forgive or overlook such cases anymore.
If someone’s visa has expired, and they’re still living abroad, they are being reported and immediately sent back to Pakistan.
This move isn’t just about punishing people — it’s about cleaning up Pakistan’s image and making sure only genuine, law-abiding citizens represent the country overseas.

- Living illegally after visa expiry
- Involvement in begging or illegal jobs
- Participating in activities that go against host country laws
- Supporting groups or ideas that the Pakistani government sees as dangerous
