OGRA increases LPG price for October
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has increased the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) for the month of October.
OGRA has issued a notification announcing an increase of Rs20.68 per kilogram in the price of LPG for October. According to the notification, the price for LPG consumers has been raised by approximately 8 percent, with the new rates coming into effect on October 1st.
Following the price hike, the cost of an 11.8 kg domestic LPG cylinder has increased by Rs244.14.
As per the notification, the new price for a domestic cylinder will be Rs3,296.23, whereas the price in September was Rs3,052.09.
Why it matters: LPG is a widely used cooking fuel in households without piped natural gas. The 8% increase adds to monthly expenses, particularly for low- and middle-income families, and may contribute to broader inflationary pressures in the coming weeks.
