Youโ€™ve probably heard of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how itโ€™s changing the world. But did you know that the seeds of science communication in Pakistan were planted way back in the 20th century โ€” long before AI became cool?

Letโ€™s take you on a little journey, like a bedtime story, but with real science heroes!

๐Ÿ“š Once Upon a Time in Karachiโ€ฆ

A curious and passionate man named Razuddin Khan had a big idea:

โ€œWhy isnโ€™t science available for everyone in Urdu โ€” especially for kids and students?โ€

At that time, all the big science magazines were in English and mostly from the West. So Razuddin Khan decided to change that.

๐Ÿงช The Birth of Science Digest (Urdu)

In a tiny office in Karachi, he created Science Digest โ€” a monthly science magazine written in Urdu, so that everyone, even school children, could understand the wonders of science.

This was like opening a magical book in your own language.

It wasnโ€™t just a magazineโ€ฆ
It was a spark that lit up young minds all over the country!

๐Ÿง  Big Ideas, Big Interviews

Razuddin Khan didnโ€™t stop there. He brought some of the brightest scientific minds into the spotlight:

  • Dr. Raziuddin Siddiqui โ€“ a student of Albert Einstein
  • Dr. Ahmed Iqbal Bukhari โ€“ who worked in James Watson’s DNA lab
  • Dr. Salim Uz Zaman Siddiqui โ€“ one of Pakistanโ€™s legendary chemists
  • Even Prince Sultan bin Salman โ€“ the first Muslim astronaut

These werenโ€™t just stories โ€“ they were real people, doing real science.

๐Ÿš€ Talking About The Future Before It Was Cool

Back when people were using typewriters and floppy disks, Science Digest was already talking about:

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Defense Technology
  • Biotechnology
  • Nuclear Energy
  • Space Missions

All the things that seem new and futuristic today?
Science Digest was already writing about them 20+ years ago!

๐Ÿงพ Small Print Run, Big Impact

Even though only 2,000 copies were printed in the beginning, their impact was massive.

Science Digest helped make science feel real and reachable for students, parents, and dreamers. It was more than a magazine โ€” it was a mission to spread knowledge in every home.

๐ŸŒ Still Alive, Now Digital!

Today, Science Digest continues to inspire โ€” now in a fully digital format.

With just a few clicks, you can explore stories, interviews, and insights that will blow your mind โ€” all in Urdu, all for YOU.

๐Ÿง  Why This Matters

Razuddin Khan had a clear vision:

โ€œUntil science and technology reach every home, self-reliance will stay a dream.โ€

Thanks to his work, Pakistanโ€™s young generation has access to the kind of knowledge that can change futures.

But hereโ€™s the thing:
Science needs YOU too!

๐Ÿ™Œ How You Can Help

If you believe in the power of knowledge and want science to reach every child in Pakistan, you can:

โœ… Support Science Digest
โœ… Follow their Instagram and Facebook pages
โœ… Share it with students and parents

โค๏ธ In Short…

Science Digest was the first real effort to bring science into every Pakistani home โ€” in a language everyone could understand. And its story is still being written.
